At a time when the authenticity of brands is under scrutiny, there’s a storm brewing in the beer industry, with the news that over 82% of beer is actually brewed in the UK*. However, many consumers often believe that their beer is brewed overseas.
So, the news that one of the last genuinely global independent family brewers are re-launching their premium brand Bavaria is a real positive for the industry. The Swinkels family have been brewing for an impressive seven generations since 1719, and every single bottle of Bavaria that consumers see in the UK is still brewed and exported from Lieshout in Holland. They continue to use the mineral water sourced from the spring deep below the former Swinkels family farm.
Sean Durkan, Head of Marketing for Bavaria UK said “Consumers are often not aware that some beers which were originally brewed on the continent, are now often actually brewed under license in the UK. With a multi-million pound turnover we are delighted to be re-launching the iconic Bavaria Premium 5% and 0.0% variants to the UK market”.
Bavaria is available in selected national and regional wholesalers, including Booker, AG Parfett, Blakemore Cash & Carry, Palmer and Harvey, and Libra Drinks.
