River Cottage Canteen and Deli has won a Highly Commended Award in the Taste of England category at the prestigious VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2014 Ceremony.
A Highly Commended Award is a considerable achievement and recognises Excellence in Tourism in England. River Cottage Canteen and Deli was presented with their Highly Commended Award at a glittering Awards Ceremony which was held on 12 May 2014 at The Jockey Club, Cheltenham Racecourse, Cheltenham.
Commenting on the Award James Berresford, VisitEngland’s Chief Executive said “It is a great achievement to win a Highly Commended Award in a field of very high quality applications. The Award places River Cottage Canteen and Deli in the top five businesses for excellence in their category in England. I warmly congratulate them on this achievement.”
River Cottage Canteen and Deli received their award from Rob Rees, Chief and Chair of Cotswold Tourism.
Joe Draper, River Cottage Canteen and Deli, Plymouth Head Chef said “‘We have been honoured to win both the ‘Taste of Devon award’ and the ‘Taste of the South West award’ and are absolutely delighted to be recognised nationally. We offer diners great value for money in serving them local, organic and wild food in the most sustainable way possible, and this reflects in our food and service. There are some great restaurants in the south west and we are proud to represent Plymouth.’
