Record Visitors Expected As Top Chefs Headline At Gloucester Quays Food Festival, July 22-24, 2016

RecordRecord visitors are expected at the 2016 Gloucester Quays Food Festival from July 22-24, with tickets to see headliner chef Tom Kerridge set to sell out in the next week.

Live shows will run over the three days of the event, with cooking demonstrations from Tom Kerridge, Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain and Reggae Reggae Sauce creator Levi Roots.

Matt Bird, Centre Manager at Gloucester Quays, said: “We’re one of the biggest ‘free to enter’ festivals in the South West and this year is set to be our most successful food festival yet. With more than 100 stalls, live music, children’s entertainment and plenty of free attractions we hope you’ll come and join us.

“Tickets for the paid for live chef shows have been flying out and we expect the Saturday shows, with Tom Kerridge, to sell out this week. We urge people to move fast to secure tickets.”

Now in its sixth year, the Food Festival is established as the biggest event of its type in the South West and with even more to see and do this year it is expected to exceed the 148,000 visitors who attended in 2015.

On Friday, July 22, Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain will be demonstrating some of the delicious recipes from her first cookbook, Nadiya’s Kitchen. She won the hearts of the nation on the popular TV series, and more recently won the hearts of the palace, baking the infamous three-tiered cake for the Queen’s 90th birthday.

On Saturday, July 23, TV chef Tom Kerridge will return to his home city of Gloucester for the sell-out demonstration in which he will share the skills that have made him a household name and wow the crowds at Gloucester Quays Food Festival.

On Sunday, July 24 it will be the turn of Levi Roots to entertain the visitors to Gloucester Quays Food Festival. Levi soared to fame when he appeared on TV’s Dragon’s Den with his now famous Reggae Reggae Sauce. He went on to open his own Caribbean restaurant, launch a successful musical career, become a motivational speaker and even publish a business book.

There will be more than 120 stalls offering everything from mouth-watering artisan pies, succulent farm sausages and lovingly brewed real ales to crafts and jewellery plus live music featuring new musical artists.

Young foodie fans will be able to try their hand in the free Kids Cookery Zone, where they will get hands-on guided cooking sessions for children at the award-winning Kids Cookery School, plus food-themed activities and games to play.

Families can also enjoy having a go at the mini Gourmet Golf course, a family fun nine-hole golf experience with foodie obstacles. Charges apply.

Book signings with Nadiya, on Friday 22 July, Tom Kerridge on Saturday 23 July, and Levi Roots, on Sunday 24 July, will take place at 2.45pm inside the shopping outlet.
