UK Restaurant Manager Of The Year 2014: Call For Entries

RMOTY__logo--finalWith the entry closing date looming, restaurant managers are urged to get online to enter this year’s Academy of Food & Wine Service’s 2014 UK Restaurant Manager of the Year.

UK Restaurant Manager of the Year, now in its sixth year, is open to restaurant managers, or those working in similar roles in any sector of the hospitality industry, providing they are responsible for the performance of a business, managing people, staff training and coordinating the operation of the restaurant.

Last year’s winner was BaxterStorey restaurant manager Janine Swales, who has said the competition has given her a “once in a lifetime opportunity”.

First-round entry forms can be downloaded at www.restaurantmanageroftheyear.co.uk with the best entries selected to attend one of two semi-finals in London or the Midlands on 29 September.

At the semi-final candidates will be interviewed and tested on their knowledge of the job and the hospitality industry. They will also complete a business scenario in front of a panel of judges, for which they will be given 14 days to prepare.

For the first time the top candidates from the semi-finals will receive a visit from the judges at their own establishment looking at service standards and training. The winner will be announced at a Gala Dinner Awards Ceremony at London’s Roof Gardens on 17 November 2014.

The deadline for entries is 30 August 2014.
