The Brudenell and White Lion Hotels at Aldeburgh, members of the TA Hotel Collection, are collaborating with Suffolk New College to run a special evening event on Tuesday 30th June in recognition of the Principal’s departure from office. Professor Dave Muller’s 40 year long career in education will be presented in a catwalk style event at the College, which includes a four-course dinner mainly prepared and served by the catering and hospitality students for up to 140 guests.
After a drinks reception, guests will take their seats for the first course during which they will be ‘introduced’ to some 25 colleagues, who have played an important role or influenced Dave Muller’s career at the College. Their presentation on the cat walk will be professionally choreographed by Pam Davis from Fashion Candy Style, while Dave Muller will personally describe the part they have played in his life.
Event organising and operational team members from both hotels are currently working with students to demonstrate how a major event is put together from its early planning stages through to the actual night.
The White Lion’s Head Chef, Ben Hegarty and Pastry Chef, Anmar Odendal will also both be working with catering students in the College kitchen to prepare, cook and serve the meal. The menu will start with a choice of hot and cold starters, while for mains there’s either slow roasted pork belly or a vegetarian risotto, followed by various puddings and a cheese station.
Photography students from the College will also be taking pictures on the night to provide a lasting memory for all.
Invited guests will include Suffolk New College Corporation members and staff as well as friends and family from within the local community. The event will be held in the atrium, which will be themed in the College colours for the evening; there will also be a fund raising event in aid of the ‘Inspire Suffolk’ charity.
Looking forward to the event, Roger Fern, Chair of Suffolk New College Corporation said; “I am delighted that our students will be working with Peter Osborne, who is a Fellow of the College, and his team. I am sure that this will help endorse our long relationship with the TA Hotel Collection”.
Dave Muller, Principal of Suffolk New College commented; “I could not want a better team to work with to celebrate my career in education and my period as Principal of Suffolk New College”.
Peter Osborne shares Suffolk New College’s passion for educating the next generation of dedicated industry professionals. “We hope this partnership will enable students to experience a real customer focused event at first hand and help put their studies into context”, added Peter.
