The Academy Of Food & Wine Service’s ‘Uk Restaurant Manager Of The Year 2016’ Award Launches

academyThe Academy of Food & Wine Service is delighted to announce the launch of its annual ‘UK Restaurant Manager of the Year 2016’ award; acknowledging and rewarding the best in a restaurant manager role in the food service industry.

The competition, which has been running for seven years, recognises those who demonstrate best practice when responsible for the likes of business performance, managing people, staff training and coordinating the entire operation of their restaurant.

With previous winners ranging from Babylon at the Roof Gardens, to Café Rouge, Baxter Storey and The Arts Club – the award is considered an impressive accolade for leaders in the hospitality industry.

As long as entrants are in a restaurant manager position and have been working in this role for at least six months, they can enter from now until 7 October 2016. Entrants can put themselves forward by simply completing the entry form, providing a CV with reference from a manager, supervisor or GM and responding to a task outlined in the entry form.

Suzanne Weekes, executive director of the Academy of Food & Wine Service, comments: “Over the past seven years, we have crowned some extraordinary hospitality talent who have demonstrated how to be the best in restaurant management. The winner will not only be the proud recipient of the award itself, but will also have the privilege of taking part in a career changing study package at The Business School, Lausanne, where they will be honing their hospitality expertise.”

“In addition to this career changing trip, we will also invite the winner to attend several of our own industry events. All finalists will have the opportunity to continue their learning with mentorship from a top industry professional to advise them with their career development. We are looking forward to meeting the next generation of in front of house service talent in the changing and fast-paced world of hospitality.”
