Trivago data shows that visitors from Germany account for the biggest group of international travellers coming to the UK this summer, Newquay crowns the list of the top summer destinations and visitors from Sweden and Spain spend the most for their stays.
Based on search volume, 71% of international searches for destinations in the UK come from ten countries. Travellers from Germany make up the biggest group followed by visitors from the US, Australia, Italy, Ireland, Spain, France, Canada, the Netherlands and Sweden.
This summer, London is the most searched destination among travellers heading to the UK, whereas Newquay is the number one top summer destination, ranked by the percentage share of visitors in summer compared to other seasons. Other top summer destinations include Skegness and Weymouth in second and third position.
Search behaviour of travellers to the UK shows that the average searched price of the top summer destinations reaches £122. While travellers pay an average of £170 for a night in Brighton, the average clicked price in Skegness is just £84.

Also, our data reveals, that domestic travellers stay two nights on average and travellers from Italy and Spain take the longest escapes, staying four to five nights on average.”
