Proper Pubs Kicks Off Christmas Selection Box Appeal Aiming To Spread Christmas Cheer To 20,000 People

Proper Pubs – which owns 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales – has begun its annual collection of Christmas selection boxes to provide Christmas cheer to communities across the UK. This year, the Group is aiming to beat 2022’s total of 18,800.

As part of this Christmas campaign, each pub is being tasked with collecting as many chocolate and confectionery filled Christmas selection boxes as possible from individual community members. The selection boxes will then be donated to a host of local charities in need, chosen by the operators of each pub. Proper Pubs is committed to making sure individuals, families and children within its communities have a festive treat to look forward to.

Community spirit is in full swing across the estate with several pubs already reaching their targets and aiming to collect even more. The Sun Inn in Chesterfield has set themselves a target of 1,000 selection boxes and is well on the way, having already collected an incredible 700. The Queens in Bredbury has already collected 287 boxes and The Old Millstone in Macclesfield has collected a total of 630 so far with many more still to go.

Mark Brooke, Director – Proper Pubs, commented: “I am delighted that we are running this fantastic initiative again this year to thank the communities that continue to support us every day. Pubs are so much more than just a place to drink, they are hubs of activity for residents to enjoy and places where people come together to support one another, and I think this stands testament to that. Christmas is an important time to show our support to those who are less fortunate.

“As always, I am so grateful to our fantastic operators and their communities who are, once again, coming together to make this happen.”
