Stars Of Bristol’s Hospitality Businesses Will Be Determined Soon

Judging is set to start later this month to determine the stars of Bristol’s hotel trade who are helping to ensure the city’s hospitality industry continues to thrive.

Hotels bring an estimated £200 million into the local economy every year and, for the third year running, the Bristol Hoteliers Association will honour those who have gone above and beyond in their work.

The BHA is hosting its third Night of the Stars on February 6, 2020, at the Bristol Marriott City Centre.

The closing date for award entries is the middle of the month, after which award sponsors will be asked to shortlist three candidates from their categories.

All the headline sponsors will them meet on January 9 in order to determine the winners, who will be announced at the glittery gala the following month.

The 2020 Night of the Stars is being sponsored by PSL, Afowen, Central Facilities Group, the Bristol City Centre BID team, Ashton Gate/Bristol Sport, YTL and Thatchers.

Raphael Herzog, acting chair of the Bristol Hoteliers Association, said: “This is a wonderful evening which recognises and rewards the exceptional efforts made by a talented team of people who are helping to maintain Bristol’s reputation as one of the UK’s top destination cities.

“We’re very grateful for the support of our sponsors, without whom we would not be able to recognise the valuable contribution made to our industry and the city by the top talent in our profession.

“The hospitality sector is a shop window for the city, and the skilled staff frequently provide the first point of contact – and create that vital first impression – for those visiting the city for both business and pleasure.

“It’s only right that we pay tribute to those who have gone the extra mile to ensure that those visitors leave with a very good impression of the city, which will make them want to return, and which they will share with others.

“As well as helping to put Bristol on the map, I hope the event also highlights the hospitality industry as an exciting and rewarding sector to work in, with a wide variety of different roles and plenty of prospects.

Eight awards will be presented during the evening in recognition of outstanding contributions towards ensuring those who stay with any of the BHA’s members receive exemplary service.

The categories are Employee of the Year (Front of House), Employee of the Year (Heart of House), Rising Star, Young Chef of the Year, F&B Front of House Best Innovation, Team of the Year, Bright Idea Award and Unsung Hero.
