There is a significant amount of capital targeting European hotels, looking for the right opportunities, which is largely maintaining current pricing across prime markets, according to a report by property specialist Savills.

Hotels have weathered the pandemic storm well with support from lenders, with a bounce back of trade expected, although for some this may take three to four years to achieve.

PUB22 will take place as part of Hotel, Restaurant & Catering (HRC) when the event returns to ExCeL London in March next year, organiser Montgomery Group has announced.  

Hotels in Bristol are making final preparations for re-opening their doors on 17 May but say there’s still some a long way to go before business is anything like back to normal.

Travelodge has announced that it will open 17 new hotels this year, creating 360 new jobs across its portfolio. Two of the new hotels will be in London, with the rest spread around the country.

The Premier Inn owner Whitbread has reported a pre-tax £1bn loss as sales fell by almost 75% due to Covid-19 lockdowns, however, the hospitality group said summer bookings had surged.
